As a Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner and business owner, I bring to your table more than 30 years of experience both in the public sector and the private sector.
Hello. In 2005 my mother, Donna Smith and I started DHRS-our family business. I bring to your table PAP knowledge with "hands-on" expertise gleaned through numerous years of experience. I am cross-trained to help administer the Business as well. My new degree in Psychology and Communications will assist me to help you meet your challenges with PAP compliance and comfort "head on". I have a family with three children. Balancing a family, completing university and working at Durham Home Respiratory Services has been a rewarding challenge-one I accept as I settle into a full time clinical and administrative role.
Hello. My name is Susie and I started working at DHRS in 2008. I have a thorough knowledge of PAP products as they relate to the treatment and long term care of Obstructive and Central Sleep Apnea and I have attended conferences and workshops to enhance my knowledge of Sleep Medicine. I have over 25 years of experience in Customer Service and Office Management. It is my job to oversee the administrative side of things at DHRS. The "highly trained" front end staff and I are here to answer any questions you may have and to help troubleshoot any problems you may face as you start therapy. We also keep abreast of changes in the industry to help you navigate through the Assistive Devices Program and your private insurance carrier when you purchase your CPAP system. We are a dedicated caring group that is here to support you and to encourage you through your journey to better quality sleep.
Hello. I bring 10 years of experience to your table. I guide you with the processing of insurance claims and offer payment plans as needed. I oversee the Home Oxygen Program. I pay the bills and without me, we couldn't function as well as we do! I balance family and work cheerfully and effectively
Hello. I am a Registered Nurse whose experience has been focused on health teaching. I have worked at DHRS for six years and I too have attended several conferences and workshops to enhance my knowledge of Sleep Medicine and Therapy. Prior to DHRS, I worked in the Public Health field offering counselling and support to patients with a variety of health concerns such as diabetes, heart and stroke disorders as well as psychiatric issues.
Hello. I feel very privileged to work with such an amazing team at DHRS. Each of my teammates brings a unique set of skills and traits that fully support and enhance the service we provide to our clients. For myself, I bring to your table many years of experience in the field of Respiratory Therapy. My career path and first job began in the fine city of Oshawa where I was employed by the local hospital for many years. My passion then diversified into the field of Homecare. I really enjoy this area. When the medical world of CPAP therapy started to develop to treat patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnea and related conditions, I was fortunate to be a part of that developing field. My involvement has been with the original "blue box" with CPAP masks that were molded in the "orthotics" department - to the amazing new technologies and models that we make patients comfortable with and have on display today. Now, working in this very "patient focused environment" is the most rewarding. Yes, I have set up many stores to help people needing therapy, but none have been as warm and caring and as inviting as DHRS (of course the freshly made homemade cookies only add to that experience). So, the next time someone you know divulges that they too have a device at home that is too big or too noisy, send them to our website to see this and then send them to our store for the best experience they can possibly have. See you soon .....
